Research Topic
Last week's afternoon tea was very interesting. I am definitely looking forward to experiencing more of these while in Oxford. As for the research topic, I am interested in the architecture related areas. The "seed" Pavilion in the 2010 Shanghai World Expo gave me a impression of the great imagination of the British People. The symbolic meaning about the sustainable development and the relationship to the nature was a great way to reflect the British culture. When touring in London, I am looking forward to see the London eye, which was built in 2000, the turning of the century. To see how a modern structure can reflect and gives a meaning to people's expectation for the future as well as a reflection of the past. Other than the modern structures, the historical buildings in Oxford were also great places to explore. Start my journey from the Bodleian Library to see how historical buildings are preserved and re-invented.
